OSCommerce Hosting
OSCommerce was started by Harold Ponce de Leon in 2000, and designed from the ground up to be “accessible, open and community driven” in additon to adhering to the principles of the Open Source movement. Over 3,000 active ecommerce stores now use OSCommerce.
To run OScommerce on your website all you require is pretty standard, Linux Shared Hosting, with the well proven “LAMP stack” of Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.
Initial installation is easy via a wizard, and administration of the application of the shopping cart isvia an web based GUI allowing you to add, remove and update products, the store layout, and configure your payment modules (Paypal, 2CO and many others) and your shipping options. There are also “extras” in the form of banner management and member logins.
OSCommerce is not one the major player in the shopping car market, but it is certainly competitive.
